Introduction to the basic technology of wire rope hoists
Functional groups: brake, motor, gearbox, drum, hoisting cable, bottom block
Safety features such as overload protection, limit switches, emergency brake (catch brake)
Construction of Demag P, DH, and DR hoists
Introduction to the basic technology of chain hoists
Functional groups: brake, motor, gearbox, hoisting chain
Safety features such as slip clutch and limit switches
Construction of Demag PK, DK, and DC chain hoists

Target audience

This course is designed for technicians with some experience in crane maintenance.

Course duration

A full day of theory and presentation covering the above topics
Concludes with an exam (conducted in a playful group setting)
Fully catered with an extensive lunch (when hosted at ELMEC’s location)

Training material

Each participant receives a handout of the course and a certificate of participation.

Course location

We are happy to invite your employees to attend the course at ELMEC (Belfeld, The Netherlands). We have a training center and a large collection of various types of drives and other training materials. Our workshop is perfectly suited for this kind of training. Of course, it is also possible to organize the training at your location.

If you choose to host the training at your own location, we kindly ask that the following conditions are met:

Presentation room equipped with a projector
Workshop area with access to an electric chain hoist
Possibility to inspect and review a KBK system at your location
Access to a lift platform
An additional fee will be charged for on-site instruction, depending on travel time and distance

Group size

The minimum number of participants is: 8.

We aim to keep the group size to a maximum of 12 participants.
