Safety is not a side issue – it’s an integral part of our daily work

At ELMEC, we place great value on workplace safety. We believe it’s important that our colleagues know how to respond in emergency situations, such as a fire or a medical incident. That’s why we actively encourage as many employees as possible to obtain a first response (BHV) certificate. Company emergency response (BHV) is not just a legal requirement – it’s a vital way of caring for one another.

This week, a refresher course was held for our current BHV-certified employees. During this session, all key topics were reviewed and practiced. From life-saving actions, resuscitation, and the use of an AED to fire extinguishing and evacuation procedures – everything was covered.
The training was interactive and practical, with realistic scenarios where participants could test their knowledge and skills. There was also a strong focus on teamwork, communication, and making the right decisions under pressure.

In addition to the refresher course, several colleagues have also completed their training as new BHV’ers in recent weeks. We are proud that they successfully obtained their certification. With this, ELMEC’s BHV team has grown, and we are now even better prepared as an organization for unexpected situations.

Whether it’s a minor injury, an evacuation, or first aid in the event of a cardiac arrest – our BHV’ers know what to do. A team of well-trained emergency responders increases safety in the workplace and builds mutual trust.

At ELMEC, we believe safety is something we create together. A safe working environment starts with well-prepared people. That’s why we continue to invest in knowledge, training, and awareness.
